Versterken mentale gezondheid in Europese Unie

Publicatiedatum

For English text, see below

Strengthening mental resilience is not only on the agenda of the Dutch Health Ministry, but also of the European Union. To build this agenda, the European Commission has issued a call for input on how the EU can contribute to a mentally healthier society. Together with the Trimbos Institute, the Dutch International Mental Health Hub and many others, we worked on a Dutch response to this question.

We have structured our response in four parts:

  1. Why we believe that action at EU level can help promote good mental health and prevent, mitigate and respond to mental health challenges in the Netherlands and across Europe.
  2. What topics we think the comprehensive approach should focus on.
  3. How we envision the European Union can increase their positive impact on mental health in European countries.
  4. Knowledge, skills and good practices from the Netherlands that can benefit the European institutions and other member States.

As the Dutch mental health sector, we are happy to contribute to this EU process and look forward to follow-up discussions.
